Lucille Yanok, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Lucille is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) whose background includes working with children, adolescents, parents, and families in a variety of mental health and school settings. Lucille earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Teaching English from New York University, and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgian Court University. Lucille specializes in working with children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, and past trauma. She also has experience working with parents who may be facing adjustment related issues to parenthood, difficulties raising intense or special needs children, and balancing personal and parental identities. Lucille has also helped families work through grief, divorce, adoption, and other family and marital related stress.

Lucille’s counseling philosophy operates under the assumption that most individuals already have the strengths or skills necessary for the change they desire in their lives. Therapy is a place where these strengths and skills may be awakened, recognized, and fostered. Lucille takes a collaborative approach to counseling, in which counselor and client work together to determine how therapy can best serve client’s needs. For some clients this may translate to a more traditional talk therapy approach, for others it may mean psycheducation or a more guided approach. Lucille has experience using a handful of counseling techniques such as Solutions Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Family Systems - however believes in a “not one size fits all” approach to treatment.
