Shannon is a dedicated therapist with ten years of experience in the field. Shannon has obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Montclair State University and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. During her time at Monmouth, Shannon developed a passion for working alongside her clients to manage emotional and behavioral issues, providing them the tools needed to become the best versions of themselves.
Shannon has worked in extensively Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. Additionally, she has four years working in the psychiatric emergency room setting. Shannon’s experience has helped her to evolve as a therapist and gain a depth of knowledge and understanding of mental illnesses. She strives to focus on the individuals strengths, utilizing a person-centered approach, and assists individuals in learning and implementing a variety of techniques. Shannon uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to assist her clients in managing depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. She values the importance of wellness and incorporates running, hiking, and a yoga practice into her own routine, and encourages her clients to integrate a wellness routine of their own to promote healing. Ultimately her goal is to help her clients navigate their journey to wellness while providing empathy and compassion.
