I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a NJ Certified School Counselor. I utilize an eclectic/integrative, humanistic, client centered, solution focused approach. I have experience with CBT and Trauma Focused CBT, EFT, Choice Theory, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative therapy. The bulk of my post Masters Training has been in Motivational Interviewing where I spent several years training with several of the leading MINT Trainers. I am consistently commended for my ability to partner with my clients, increasing motivation for change, while structuring the session by holding the focus using accurate empathy and cultivating change talk. I have extensive experience in both group and individual therapy with several different populations including those with issues related to Addictions and Long Term Recovery including dealing with secondary addictions and Adult Child (Developmental Trauma)issues; Aging, Advanced Illness, End of Life and Grief; Parenting, Reunification and Teen Issues; Employment Issues; Minority Issues including issues related to Race, Gender and Sexual Identity; as well as issues including but not limited to PTSD/ Complex PTSD anxiety and depression. As a seasoned professional I am interested in using my strengths to empower the next generation of professionals to become more skilled in working with their clients. I am extremely, professional, highly ethical, and task oriented; I consider myself a true team player. My unique life experience and extensive training and supported by diverse work experience make me knowledgeable both educationally and experimentally.
