Erika Pettersen, LAC
Licensed Associate Counselor, under supervision of Robert Perper, LPC, ACS
Erika is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). She received her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December of 2020 from Georgian Court University. Prior to that, she received her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Psychology.
Erika has experience working in the following treatment settings: community outreach, partial hospitalization(PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), early intervention support services (EISS), crisis stabilization, and outpatient services. She has clinical experience working with individuals struggling with various mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self harm, life transitions, or individuals who are generally looking to better their quality of life. Erika’s work has a strong emphasis on mindfulness, and self-compassion. Commonly used approaches Erika has incorporated into her work include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Strength-Based approaches in order to support clients in creating a life they love.
When Erika is not in the office, she is often out doing activities she loves. Some of her favorite things to do are going to concerts, traveling (especially to Disney), exploring new places, going hiking, going to the beach, reading, hanging out with her family and friends, watching tv, working out, and especially spending time with Jersey- her kitten.
