Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tree of Life Counseling Center

Background. I grew up in the area and graduated from Georgian Court University, where I earned a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I’ve been in the field for over 18 years, in various settings, working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Credentials and Licensing. Currently, I’m licensed to practice counseling in New Jersey (LPC), New York (LMHC), Florida (LMHC), and Arizona (LPC). I’m also an approved clinical supervisor (ACS) and offer clinical supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians looking to obtain supervision for licensure.

Areas of passion and specialty. Bereavement, grief, end of life, gender dysphoria, and the LGBTQIA+ population.

Favorite therapeutic modalities. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Approach. I believe in using a variety of therapeutic modalities, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT empowers YOU to recognize your own skills, strengths, and talents. I understand that the therapeutic process can be a vulnerable one, so it is important to me that you feel understood, appreciated, and validated within each session.

When working with those struggling with grief, bereavement, and death, I love to utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to help my client gain valuable insights into their life values and goals. My approach is non-directive and empathic, and I work tirelessly to ensure that my office is an environment where you can come to feel empowered and motivated to fulfill your life’s potential!

Words of Inspiration. Some of the words that inspired the name “Tree of Life”…The name "Tree of Life" was inspired by the profound symbolism and deep-rooted significance associated with this ancient concept. The image of a tree has long represented strength, growth, and interconnectedness in various cultures and traditions throughout history. Similarly, the Tree of Life symbolizes vitality, balance, and the interconnectedness of all living beings. By adopting this name, we aim to convey our commitment to nurturing personal growth, fostering resilience, and providing a supportive environment where individuals can find solace, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose. Just as a tree stands firmly rooted while reaching towards the sky, we strive to support individuals on their journey towards emotional well-being, self-discovery, and a fulfilling life.
