Our Approach to Care
Where Care Begins
Understanding what brings you here, what matters to you, and what you hope to work toward is where meaningful care begins.
Care Built Around You
At Tree of Life Counseling Center, we recognize that every person comes to care with different experiences, challenges, strengths, and goals. That’s why we believe mental health treatment should be tailored to the individual.
Whether you’re seeking therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, our goal is to help you access care that reflects your needs and supports what you’re working towards.
At Tree of Life, care is…
Personalized
Care that reflects you.
Your experiences, needs, and goals are unique to you. We take the time to understand what brings you to care and create a plan that supports where you are and where you want to go.
Collaborative
You have a voice in your care.
You know yourself best. Your provider brings clinical experience, and together you’ll identify your goals and determine what feels most helpful.
Flexible
Care that can evolve with you.
Your needs may change over time, and your care can change with them. We’ll adapt your care based on your needs and goals.
Finding the Right Provider Matters.
Finding someone you feel comfortable with is an important part of the therapeutic process. Therapists have different areas of expertise, treatment approaches, personalities, and styles, and not every provider will be the right fit for every person.
With more than 60 clinicians, we work to connect you with a provider whose experience and approach align with your needs and goals.
How We Approach Therapy
Therapy looks different for everyone. Our clinicians draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques based on your needs, goals, and what you’re working through.
Your therapist may help you better understand patterns, build practical coping skills, explore your experiences, or learn new ways to navigate challenges. Throughout the process, you’ll work with you to determine what feels most helpful for you.
More Than Just Talk
Therapy is a space to talk openly about what brings you to treatment, but the process can go beyond conversation. It can also be an opportunity to better understand your mental health and build practical skills that you can use in your everyday life.
Depending on your needs, this may include learning coping strategies such as breathing exercises, grounding, or mindfulness techniques that can support you both in and outside of therapy. This idea comes directly from Jimmy’s explanation of therapy as both a skills-building and learning process.
