Licensed Social Worker
Background. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Fine Arts from Saint Michael’s College, a Master of Education in Athletic Training from Plymouth State University, and a Master of Social Work from Boise State University. I bring over 20 years of experience in education, wellness, and behavior change, helping adolescents and adults develop emotional awareness, resilience, and effective coping strategies. Amanda has clinical experience in both IOP/PHP and outpatient settings supporting adults with a wide range of mental health and co-occurring disorders.
Credentials and Licensing. I am currently a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of New Jersey.
Areas of passion and specialty. I work with adults experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, trauma, OCD, substance use, grief, and major life transitions. I have a particular interest in treating anxiety and stress-related disorders, co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, parenting stress, and supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am especially passionate about helping clients build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, increase self-understanding, and build confidence as they navigate difficult life experiences. My approach focuses on helping individuals develop insight, resilience, and meaningful strategies to support lasting personal growth.
Approach. I take a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy. I integrate evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My approach focuses on creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore challenges while learning practical strategies to support lasting change. I believe therapy should be an empowering process that helps clients better understand themselves while building the skills needed to move forward with confidence.
