Hi, my name is Ashleigh Werkmeister! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LPC, LCADC), and I’m so glad you’re here.
I enjoy working with adults and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and substance use.
My professional background includes earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. I have previous experience working in both intensive outpatient and outpatient settings and am dually licensed in mental health and substance use treatment.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and empowering. I work to develop a partnership with my clients so we can work together toward achieving their goals. I strive to provide a therapeutic setting where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings while also developing a sense of empowerment. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing into our work together.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, cooking, and reading.
One of my favorite words of inspiration is, “Healing begins with hope. Every step forward is a step towards becoming the best version of yourself.”
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, and reaching out for support is a meaningful act of courage. Together, we can create a safe and nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals at your own pace.
